Understanding Programs and Eligibility for NJEDA’s $50 Million in New Funding

Invited Community Leaders Include: Anthony Carabelli,Jr., Director, Mercer County Office of Economic Development Lilian Mauro, Regional Director, NJ Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) Christina Fuentes, NJEDA Director of Small Business Services New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA)recently announced $50 million in new funding and broader eligibility criteria for the Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program. Under the newly-expanded program, which will provide grants up to $10,000 for COVID-impacted businesses, a wider variety of businesses will now be eligible, including home-based businesses and sole proprietorships. The program will also feature a special focus on businesses in Opportunity Zone-eligible census tracts. Christina Fuentes, NJEDA Director of Small Business Services will provide a detailed explanation of the changes, as well as an example of what the application will look like. This will ensure that applicants are aware of the eligibility requirements and information needed to complete the application prior to it going live. NJEDA Webinar: Expanded Grant Program

Join us as a representative from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority reviews the $50 million expansion of its Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program. During Phase 2 of the Grant Program, $5 million will be used to fund businesses that were waitlisted during Phase 1, and $45 million in CARES Act funding will be used to provide grants up to $10,000 to a significantly broader range of businesses than were previously eligible. The expanded program relaxes eligibility criteria to include a broader variety of businesses as well as home-based businesses and sole proprietorships.
